In Mexico, the high levels of poverty, violence and discrimination against women, lack of education, access to jobs, medical assistance and support systems, especially in rural areas, the absence of simple infrastructure from federal, state and local governments in supporting the social development/non-profit sector means that there is huge lack of funds for organisations on the ground who are working to help the poor and vulnerable.
That is why there is a need for foodbanks and help centres that are well funded and able to reach those in need so that the levels of poverty do not continue to rise, especially due to the new 2020 pandemic.
